Illiana Backyard Fun hosts Business
After Hours
On
Wednesday, October 3, 2007, seventy-five Chamber members and guests
attended Business After Hours hosted by Illiana Backyard Fun. The event
was conducted at their location at 800 E. Walnut Street in Watseka.
Darcey Smith, Chamber Executive Director, welcomed all members,
employees, and guests.
Smith welcomed two new members to the Chamber including Smith Real
Estate Services, Ltd and TheWatsekaWeb.com, both of Watseka. Smith
mentioned a Business Before Hours in October at American Red Cross of
Iroquois County. The event will be Wednesday, October 17th beginning at
7:00 a.m.
Smith, then, introduced Kristie Cheatum, owner of Illiana Backyard Fun.
Cheatum acknowledged many local businesses, contractors, and friends who
helped with the addition on the back of the building. Cheatum also
introduced employee, Sheila Levitt. Together, they talked about the many
offered services and products carried at Illiana Backyard Fun.
Refreshments were on hand for guests, including pizza and stick-less
kabobs both cooked on their new Primo grills.
Marcie
Sheridan of Iroquois Sexual Assault Services won the Chamber’s 50/50
drawing. The Arc of Iroquois County donated 2 fall mum plants as door
prizes. Jeff Petersen of Iroquois Regional Health Center and Betty
Andrews of First National Bank of Gilman-Watseka each won a mum. Illiana
Backyard Fun also gave away 13 door prizes. Door prize winners included:
Kerry Bell of First Trust & Savings Bank, Janice Lubben of First Trust &
Savings Bank, Tim Waters of 98 Gold, Mike Ruble of WIVR, Marcie Sheridan
of ISAS, Mike Chaney of Iroquois Federal, Rhonda Pence of Iroquois
Federal, Dale Carley of Carley Advertising, Michelle Brutlag of IMH, Kat
Berry of Berry’s Processing, Huck Marshall, Lorraine Smith of
Toastmasters, and Alan Martin of Iroquois Federal.
Business After Hours is a program of the Watseka Area Chamber of
Commerce, designed to provide networking opportunities for area
businesses and organizations, as well as to help promote the community
