Historical Society hosts Business After Hours

On Wednesday, January 16, 2008, forty-six Chamber members and guests attended the rescheduled Business After Hours hosted by the Iroquois County Historical Society Old Courthouse Museum. Darcey Smith, Chamber Executive Director, welcomed all members, employees, and guests.

Smith welcomed two new members to the Chamber, Step Of Faith of Watseka and William D. McCarthy, MD LLC of Sheldon. Smith reminded all attendees that registrations are now being accepted for the upcoming Business Expo.

Smith, then, turned it over to David N. Todd, President of the Iroquois County Historical Society. Todd asked all attendees to vote for their favorite Christmas Tree from their annual Christmas Tree Lane, as well as their favorite Gingerbread House. Todd also mentioned that the Sweethearts of Branson will be in Watseka in March. The event will be conducted at The Watseka Theatre and tickets are on sale now at the Old Courthouse Museum.

The Historical Society gave away four door prizes to four lucky winners. Cheryl Bohlmann of Main Street Gifts, Susan Wynn of KC-CASA, Arlaina Janowski of the Times-Republic, and Dave Mayotte of the Watseka Fire Department each won door prizes.

Instead of conducting a 50/50 drawing, the Chamber collected cash contributions to benefit the Flood Relief Fund.

Business After Hours is a program of the Watseka Area Chamber of Commerce, designed to provide networking opportunities for area businesses and organizations, as well as to help promote the community through the success of its members.
