 The
Watseka Area Chamber of Commerce conducted a ribbon cutting ceremony at the
new Blockbuster Video on Friday, September 1, 2006 at 12:15 p.m. The ribbon
cutting ceremony was conducted to celebrate the business’ grand opening and
first day of business.
Blockbuster opened its doors at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2006.
Blockbuster has over 8,000 movies in stock, carrying the largest quantity of
each movie. Their new movies are guaranteed in stock or it’s free.
Blockbuster receives all the new movies released on Tuesdays. Blockbuster
carries DVD and VHS movies, as well as Xbox, Xbox 360, Gamecube, and Play
Station 2 video games.
Blockbuster Video is owned by Jim Thayer of Thayer Entertainment. The local
store will be managed by Debbie Payne. Blockbuster is located at 1160 East
